[OAC Hike] Mount Hollywood Loop + Griffith Observatory Trek

Join us for a fantastic hike that packs Los Angeles' most iconic sights into a single route! Trek through the natural beauty of the Hollywood Hills while taking in breathtaking, panoramic views of the Hollywood Sign, the Downtown LA skyline, and the Griffith Observatory. After enjoying the great outdoors, you'll have the option to step inside and explore the legendary observatory itself before we head back.

Our Route: We’ll start on the Riverside Trail, connect to the Hogback Trail for some elevation, transition onto the Mt. Hollywood Trail and head up to the Observatory.

• Elevation gain: 778ft
• Total time: ~2.5 hours including the Observatory visit. The hike takes between 1.5-2 hours.

What to Bring:

• Plenty of water

• Trail snacks

• Sunscreen and a hat (much of this trail is exposed!)

• Comfortable hiking shoes

Free parking is available at Lot G, right next to our starting point. After finishing our hike at the Griffith Observatory, we'll be riding the DASH bus for one stop, back down to Parking Lot G.
