Tennis Club Ladder

We are excited to officially launch the Tennis Ladder, aimed at fostering friendly competition among all members, encouraging matches with different people, and strengthening our group’s engagement!

Timeline and Prize:
At February 28th , the current top 4 standing of each ladder will compete in a mini championship (semis and final) to be played at open courts. The winner will win a ticket to Indian Wells, courtesy of the club!
Of course, the ladder will still continue! and there will be more prizes to come!! So play as much as you can!


Two Ladders Available:

• Beginner:
  • For those just starting their journey in the amazing sport of tennis.
• Intermediate:
  • A more competitive ladder for intermediate and advanced players. Advanced players should join this ladder!

Rules:

• Rankings are calculated using the ELO system, widely used for fair competition.
  • Points will be awarded or deducted based on the difference in rankings between players:
  • If a higher-ranked player loses, they lose more points compared to winning (as they are "expected to win").
  • Conversely, if a lower-ranked player wins, they gain more points compared to losing.
• Challenge Limit: You can challenge:
  • Any player below you in the rankings.
  • Players up to 4 positions above you in the rankings.
  • This rule prevents incentives for lower-ranked players to challenge the highest-ranked players, maintaining fairness.

Instructions to Participate:

1. Sign Up:
   • For Beginner - Men Ladder, use this [LINK].
   • For Intermediate - Men Ladder, use this [LINK].
   • For Women (All levels, will separate if enough sign up), use this [LINK]
   • Add yourself to the list of players on the "Players" tab.

2. Play Matches:
   • Challenge someone to play a match.
   • Match coordination is entirely up to the players involved.
   • There are no specific rules about the number of sets or games—this is left to the players’ discretion.

3. Submit Results:
   • After the match, record who won on the "Submit Match" tab.
   •  
4. Rankings Updates:
   • The rankings will be updated every Sunday after match validations are completed.
