More About Dean Shih's Research:
"In the Social and Identity Lab (S.A.I.L.) at UCLA Anderson School of Management, we study how people's social identities shape their experiences and outcomes in life—mainly in the context of education and work settings. Our current projects fall under three lines of research:
Studying the ways in which social identities (e.g., race, gender, and socioeconomic status) shape individuals' perceptions, attitudes and behaviors.
Examination of the psychological antecedents and consequences of different forms of inequality and their intersections, including gender, racial, and economic inequality.
Exploring the psychology of intergroup interactions—while taking a dominant group perspective (e.g., racial majorities) as well as a subordinate group perspective (e.g., racial minorities)."
