EMA is honored to invite Giancarlo Nasi (EMBA '23), a film producer specialized in international co-productions. We will watch his recent film Blanquita (2022), which is premiered at the Venice International Film Festival (won the best script!), and discuss his experience as international / independent producer. Check the details below and sign up!

1. About Giancarlo Nasi
Film producer, political scientist, and intellectual property lawyer. He is also the founder of the Chilean Academy of Cinematic Arts, a university professor at various film schools in Chile and abroad, as well as an advisor to Rotterdam Lab, Sundance Collab and South by Southwest.
Through his company Quijote Films in Chile, Giancarlo specializes in international co-productions and has worked with over 17 countries on more than 15 films. Among them stand out LAND AND SHADE (2015) by César Augusto Acevedo, winner of the Caméra d'Or at Cannes Critics' Week, OBLIVION VERSES (2017) by Alireza Khatami, which premiered at Venice Orizzonti and won Best Screenplay, LINA FROM LIMA (2019) by María Paz González, part of Toronto's Discovery section, and WHITE ON WHITE (2019) by Théo Court, winner of the Best Director Award at Venice Orizzonti.

2.About Blanquita
Blanca, an 18-year-old foster home resident, is the key witness in a scandal involving kids, politicians, and rich men taking part in sex parties. Yet, the more questions are asked, the less clear it becomes what Blanca's role in the scandal exactly is.
