Kano is a history film based on a true story happened in 1931, when the majority of East Asia was invaded and occupied by Japan, preparing for its further invasion of Asia. The movie is about a baseball team comprised of Seediq people (natives on the Taiwan Island) and Han people (mainland China) representing the island and winning the Japanese national high school baseball championship at Koshien Stadium in 1931. The inspiring film perfectly captures the fighting spirit of the people in Greater China region and protest against Japan’s invasion of China through the game of baseball. In addition, the film captured the unique culture on the island of Taiwan.
