Chak De! India (English: Go! India) is a 2007 Indian sports film, directed by Shimit Aminand. It tells a fictional story about the Indian women's national field-hockey team, which was inspired by the team's win at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, and explores themes such as feminism and sexism, the legacy of the partition of India, racial and religious bigotry, and ethnic and regional prejudice. Chak De! India won a number of awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
