The Farewell

A Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies. The Farewell depicts a contrasting image between two values - individualism that the western culture portrays and collectivism in traditional Asian cultures.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session where students will have the opportunity to discuss the movie.
