- What is optimization? Where does it sit relative (how is it different from & similar to) data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc? What are characteristics of business problems that can be addressed / solved / mitigated with optimization.
- Examples from different industries of how optimization was used to help solve a problem and improve the business. How do we quantify the impact in either dollars or time saved or some other metric.
- If you are an Ops manager or director, who should you hire / what types of people should you go seek help from when you've decided that optimization may be a solution? What sort of profiles should you be looking for?
