SOMA Operations Case Book
Thanks to the SOMA Operations Career Development team, SOMA would like to offer the Operations Case Book to members recruiting for Operations roles. There will be future updates to the casebook and will be sent out as updates are made. Please find the case book here.
Please note that this is for personal use and not to be shared with anyone outside of SOMA.
Instructions:
1. Please make a copy to your own Google drive in order to properly use the filtering tabs.
2. There are two types of tabs.
- Case/Behavior Practice: The tabs will allow you to filter for questions in applicable company, function, and industry.
- Case/Behavior Questions: The tabs will allow you to view all behavioral and casing questions.
3. The case book is designed to practice on sample behavioral and casing questions that you may expect on an interview. It is best used when doing interview prep with other students in order to receive feedback on answers.

Description:
The Goodyear Innovation Challenge is a business design and innovation competition sponsored by Goodyear in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Master's degree students and ambitious undergraduate students with a zeal for intrapreneurship, design, and business innovation from across the United States are invited to unleash their creativity while addressing real-world business challenges. The top five teams will compete for prize money in a virtual hackathon culminating in a competition where they will pitch ideas to Goodyear executives.
Prizes:
Top five teams will be invited to a 4-day virtual hackathon, working with Goodyear Innovation Lab associates for a $5000, $2500, or $1000 cash prize.

January 17, 2021 at 11:59 PM CST - Deadline to submit applications.
February 10, 2021 at 12:30 PM CST - RBPC announces 42 teams to compete via live video, email and phone.
February 17, 2021 by 5:00 PM CST - Invited teams confirm commitment to compete via written confirmation on application, and last day to last day to withdraw without penalty.
Description:
The Rice Business Plan Competition (RBPC) is the world’s richest and largest graduate-level student startup competition. It is hosted and organized by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. The Rice Alliance is Rice University's internationally-recognized initiative devoted to the support of entrepreneurship. This will be the 21st year of the competition. In that time, it has grown from nine startup teams competing for $10,000 in prize money in 2001, to 42 starups from around the world competing for more than $1 million in cash and prizes.

With millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccine already administered, the world is beginning to sense a future without the pandemic. But chemists will still feel its impact, at least at the start of the year, as they wait for the economy to recover its prepandemic swagger. Meanwhile, expect to see companies and regulators return their focus to environmental issues such as climate change, persistent pollutants, plastics recycling, and clean energy. The European Union and UK still have Brexit issues to solve, while China’s specialty chemical makers will benefit from a push to grow high-tech industries.
