Kick-off this Tuesday!

We are so excited to meet all the new members and welcome back our 2nd years as well! Come grab a drink and some apps at our Kickoff this Tuesday, October 12 at 6PM at Barney's Beanery in Westwood. We will be introducing members of the leadership team, sharing SOMA's plans for the year, and talking about Director roles (now open)! Also - we will be distributing SWAG for both 1st and 2nd years. We can't wait to meet you!

Looking to get more involved with SOMA and develop leadership skills? 1st year director roles are now open to apply through this form here. We encourage those interested to read through the list of responsibilities and chat with the current VP to gain a better understanding of expectations (but is not required to meet with a VP). The list of director roles and VP emails are also listed in the instructions of the form. Applications are due by 10/14, and the results will be announced on 10/20. Anderson Strategy Group is a non-profit, student-run consulting firm at the UCLA Anderson School of Management dedicated to developing strategic solutions to critical business problems while advancing consulting skills within the Anderson community. Our projects span functions such as corporate strategy, market-entry, and operational improvement.

ASG will provide 20 students with both academic and hands-on preparation for a career in strategy through a four-credit Winter course featuring Derek Alderton, a former McKinsey Partner, as well as a 10-week client engagement in the Spring. Our alumni have gone on to intern and work at the world’s leading consulting firms, technology companies, and other strategy practices.

B2U Searching for Operations Intern

Description: B2U seeks an Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) intern for 12-15 hours per week to work with our team to systematize processes for component sourcing and the production of an innovative Li-ion energy storage product known as the EV Pack Storage (EPS) System. The position  may include work on the following functions:  

• Sourcing and materials management: Assist with improving processes for procuring and managing materials and inventory for EPS, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. 
• Integration: Assist in improving processes for integrating components into EPS including achieving regulatory certifications. 
• Delivery and logistics: Assist in improving processes for fulfilling demand for EPS. 

Skills/Requirements:

• MBA candidate pursuing an Operations focus 
• 2-3 years of successful operations and/or supply chain management with a product  development nexus preferred 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite 
• Excellent attention to detail
• Interest in opportunities in battery storage, renewable energy, sustainability,  decarbonization.
